leo “elle” wall is a multidisciplinary artist working within and through the space of the (un)home to explore domesticity and lived environments as physical projections of a gendered body. Often departing from a space of self-investigation – using her practice to unearth embodiments of trans-femininity, desire, and individuation – elle bridges techniques of fine furniture making with digital fabrication and experimental sculptural processes, foregrounding intention through careful material consideration. By juxtaposing found/collected/foraged, ready-made/ manufactured, hand-crafted/labored, and otherwise-unconventional material and conceptual pairings, elle’s work prompts a subversive defamiliarization of the space of the home, utilising recognizable domestic and (sub)urban referents as an access point to a collective unconscious.

elle is currently studying Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design and Modern Culture and Media at Brown University.
